FED: One Nation quiet on possible Senate swap

CANBERRA, Aug 9 AAP - Unsuccessful One Nation Senate contender Heather Hill has refused to
comment on speculation she might swap positions with Len Harris, who is to be sworn in as the
party's first senator today.

Mr Harris took over Mrs Hill's Senate seat after the High Court last month ruled her
election invalid as she held dual Australian-British citizenship.

The pair will hold a news conference this afternoon to make "an historic announcement".

But Mrs Hill would not comment on the possibility of a swap.

"Len and I have both decided that we won't say anything until the three o'clock press
conference," Mrs Hill told AAP.

Reports that One Nation leader Pauline Hanson also planned to hold a news conference today
fuelled speculation that she could also make a bid for the Senate position.

However, Mrs Hill said she knew nothing about a news conference by Mrs Hanson.

Mrs Hanson's Queensland office said the former MP was in Tasmania and they knew of no plans
for a news conference.
